In short:

Rockets launched by Lebanese militant group Hezbollah have struck Israel's third-largest city, Haifa, and the nearby city of Tiberias.

Two missiles were reported to have hit Haifa, and five Tiberias. Local media said 10 people were injured in Israel's north.

Israel is continuing to bomb areas across Lebanon targeting Hezbollah sites, while the group attacks areas in northern Israel and fights back IDF ground troops.

Hezbollah rockets have struck the northern Israeli cities of Haifa and Tiberias, Israeli police say.

Israeli media reported 10 people were wounded in the country's north, though it was not clear how many injuries were from each location.

The strikes took place shortly after midnight on Monday local time, while the Israeli military pounded areas in southern Lebanon and the capital Beirut.

Hezbollah said it targeted a military base south of Haifa with a salvo of "Fadi 1" missiles. Media reports said two rockets hit Haifa on Israel's Mediterranean Coast and five others hit Tiberias, 65 kilometres away.

Haifa, with a population of more than 1.1 million, is Israel's third-largest city.

Police said some buildings and properties were damaged, and there were several reports of minor injuries with some people taken to a nearby hospital.

Video taken by a surveillance camera showed the moment a rocket hit in Haifa.

News agency Reuters was able to independently verify the location and date of the video, with corroborating reports and timestamp of the footage.

Israel's military said fighter jets hit targets belonging to Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Beirut, including intelligence-gathering means, command centres, and additional infrastructure sites.

Over the past few hours, the air strikes struck Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in the area of Beirut, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, noting that secondary explosions were identified following the strikes, indicating the presence of weaponry.

Air strikes also struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa area, including weapons storage facilities, infrastructure sites, a command centre, and a launcher, the IDF said.

It blamed Hezbollah for deliberately embedding its command centres and weaponry beneath residential buildings in the heart of the city of Beirut and endangering the civilian population.
