In short:
Four gunmen have killed 10 and injured 13 others in a shooting at a bar in Querétaro, Mexico.
The gunmen entered the bar and opened fire, killing seven men and three women.
What's next?
Authorities say one person has been arrested and investigators are looking into a vehicle that is linked to the attack.
Gunmen have killed 10 people and injured 13 others during a shooting at a bar in a state of Mexico that has, until now, been relatively unscathed in the country's drug wars.
Authorities said four gunmen entered the bar on Saturday evening, local time, in Querétaro state and opened fire, killing seven men and three women.
They said 13 other people were injured.
Two of the 13 wounded were reportedly gravely injured.
Investigators were at the scene looking into a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident.
Querétaro's head of public security Juan Luis Ferrusca Ortiz, confirmed the attack and the number of victims.
He said at least one person was arrested following the attack.
Mr Ferrusca Ortiz said officials identified those responsible by tracking the licence plates on the car the armed men fled in, which was later abandoned and set on fire.
The shooting happened in Queretaro state, an area that isn't associated with cartel violence.
The shooting has added to a wave of violent crime authorities say is gripping parts of the country.
A video from the bar's security cameras that has been shared on social media shows four people walking into the bar and shooting indiscriminately at people eating at several tables.
Querétaro is not commonly prone to high levels of violent crime, such as homicide, and is considered relatively safe compared to many other areas of Mexico.
Hours after the attack, Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri vowed to bring the assailants to justice and said he was working to provide aid for the families of those killed.
"I reiterate to the people of Querétaro that there will be punishment for those responsible for this brutal act, we will continue to seal our borders and maintain the security of our state," Mr Kuri said on X.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum who took office on October 1, has vowed to crack down on violent crime and unveiled a security plan aimed at increasing opportunities for vulnerable young people, improving intelligence sharing among government institutions and beefing up the country's National Guard.
There have been 2,788 homicides nationwide since Ms Sheinbaum became president, according to pollster TResearch's analysis of government data, Reuters reported.
